Our Commitment to Privacy
SnapSwipe is a product of Base Unit LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company doing business as "SnapSwipe" ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that all photo processing remains entirely under your control. This Privacy Policy describes our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our mobile application and related services.
1. The "On-Device First" Principle
Our core philosophy is that your personal media should never leave your device without your explicit intent. All photo analysis, duplicate detection, face recognition, and sorting logic happens 100% on your device using local machine learning frameworks. We do not have access to your photo library, and we do not store your photos on our servers.
2. Information We Collect
Usage Data & Analytics
We collect anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the Service. This may include information such as your device type, operating system version, app version, and feature interaction patterns. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
Technical Logs & Crash Reports
If the app crashes or encounters an error, we may collect technical logs to diagnose the issue. These reports contain technical information about the state of the app at the time of the error but do not contain your photos or personal identity.
Payment Information
All transactions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store your credit card numbers or banking information. We only receive confirmation of your purchase and subscription status from the platform provider.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR/UK GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, we process your information based on:
- •Performance of a Contract: To provide the core functionality of the Service.
- •Legitimate Interests: To improve our Service and protect against technical errors.
- •Consent: For optional features you explicitly enable.
4. US State Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA, VCDPA, etc.)
Residents of California, Virginia, and other US states have specific rights regarding their personal data, including the right to know what data is collected, the right to delete data, and the right to opt-out of "sales" or "sharing" of data. SnapSwipe does not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Data Retention
We retain anonymous usage data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. Since we do not collect your photos or identity, there is no personal profile to delete; however, you can clear all local app data by uninstalling the application.
6. Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect the limited data we collect. However, please be aware that no transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. The primary protection for your photos is that they are stored in your device's secure file system.
7. Contact & Data Requests
